Often, it can be related to eye allergies. Tearing may also occur when there is either a blockage or even narrowing of the tear duct drainage system.<\/p>\n<p>There are several different procedures to correct an obstruction in the tear duct system:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Simple dilation of the tear duct opening.<\/li>\n<li>Lower lid tightening.<\/li>\n<li>Dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) lacrimal bypass surgery.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>DCR surgery can be performed:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Externally, via an incision between the eye and the nose which heals nearly invisibly.<\/li>\n<li>Endoscopically through the nose without an external incision.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Prof. Hartstein will determine the type of procedure to be performed during the office evaluation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Prof. Hartstein has a vast experience in treating patients with tearing or watery eyes.
