Some patients may develop double vision due to enlarged and tight eye muscles.<\/p>\n<p>There are a variety of medical and surgical treatments for thyroid eye disease.<\/p>\n<p>Surgical treatments of thyroid eye disease include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lowering the upper eyelid<\/li>\n<li>Raising the lower eyelid<\/li>\n<li>Orbital decompression<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Prof. Hartstein, in conjunction with an endocrinologist, will determine the best combination of treatments for the patients presenting with thyroid eye disease (TED) after the office evaluation.
